Robert Burns, in his poem ‘To a Mouse' written in 1798, penned the line, "The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men Gang aft agley [often go awry]." If you've lived a fair few years, you can probably identify with that sentiment as much as we can.
Thankfully, however, where once, a plan going wrong may have ruffled us, it does so no longer because we've come to know there is always a very good reason when our plans get changed.
In fact, long before Burns wrote his poem, King Solomon penned the words, "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps."
This, of course, is by far the more hopeful presentation of the truth that man's plans are often dashed, and it's certainly one that we can embrace because just as the American dollar states ‘In God we trust'.
So, when our plans go awry, we know that there is always a purpose, even when don't know what it is! Experience has taught us that God really does know best, so today, we find it easy to roll with the flow and let things play out as they will.
Well, that was rather a long way round of letting you know that family issues have delayed our book release. We're sure you'll understand; in the meantime, keep watching this space though because we are nearly there!
